Description of Practice:
Jeffrey J. Nolan's litigation and counseling practice with Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew, P.C. focuses on: representing employers and institutions of higher education in employment and student-related matters, in civil litigation and administrative proceedings; advising employers and institutions of higher education on the resolution and legal implications of employment and student-related issues on a day-to-day basis, in light of federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements; and assisting employers and institutions of higher education in the development and implementation of appropriate policies, handbooks and training programs.
Mr. Nolan has practiced in these areas since joining the firm in 1992. Prior to joining the firm, he served as law clerk to The Honorable Jerome J. Niedermeier, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Vermont, from 1991-1992.
Mr. Nolan is a regular contributor to the Vermont Employment Law Letter authored and edited by the firm, he co-authored an article published in the Journal of College and University Law (the national journal of the National Association of College and University Attorneys) in June, 2006, he has published other nationally-distributed articles, and he frequently speaks at national, regional and local-audience seminars on employment law issues and legal issues affecting colleges and universities.
Mr. Nolan is listed in Chambers & Partners, America's Leading Lawyers for Business in the area of Labor and Employment law, in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Labor and Employment law, and in New England Super Lawyers in the area of Employment and Labor law.
