Areas of Practice Concentration
Complex Civil Litigation
My Approach
After completing my clerkship with the Vermont Supreme Court, I joined Dinse in 1982. Since then my clients have included Vermont governors and officials, Fortune 500 Companies, and neighbors in need of help. In every case – and for each client – I apply my experience, intensity, and skills to achieve the best possible outcome.
Practice Areas
As head of the firm’s litigation group and as one of Vermont’s premier trial lawyers, I concentrate on the defense of complex civil litigation throughout Vermont and New England.
Experience
During my 35 years of practice, I have tried jury and bench cases in every Vermont Superior Court and in all Vermont U.S. District Courts. I regularly argue appeals before the Vermont Supreme Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Among my representative cases, I have successfully represented:
- Vermont governor sued by former agency head for alleged defamation
- Pharmaceutical companies sued for alleged marketing fraud
- Petrochemical company sued for alleged state-wide ground water contamination
- Business owner sued by State for alleged investor fraud
- Manufacturers sued for alleged product defects
- Regional law firm sued for alleged malpractice
- Academic Medical Center and physicians sued for alleged malpractice
Prior to joining Dinse in 1982, served as judicial clerk to Justices Robert W. Larrow and Louis P. Peck of the Vermont Supreme Court.
