Lending regulation, commercial transactions and commercial litigation
Description of Practice:
Afi Ahmadi is a member of the firm's Business Group. His practice concentrates on corporate organization, financial services and lending regulation, and commercial transactions. Mr. Ahmadi represents Vermont banks and secured lenders in financing transactions, and has significant experience in commercial dispute resolution. He also represents out-of-state lenders regarding doing business in Vermont and laws affecting lending activities. Mr. Ahmadi further represents Vermont businesses on a variety of matters, including leasing, business contrtacts, and corporate formation.
Prior to developing his commercial practice, Mr. Ahmadi gained experience as a litigator in both insurance defense and commercial matters. Before returning to Burlington, Mr. Ahmadi practiced with the litigation department of the law firm of Ryan, Smith & Carbine in Rutland, Vermont. Mr. Ahmadi also served as a law clerk for the Chittenden Superior Court in Burlington, Vermont. While in law school, Mr. Ahmadi acted as Executive Editor for Student Publications for Boston University School of Law's Annual Review of Banking Law. Mr. Ahmadi was a member of the University of Vermont Board of Trustees from 1991 -1993.
