Gurtman Attended the 2012 Project Finance Tutorial in New York

This year’s program addressed structuring and financing renewable energy projects including (i) managing developer and lender risk in project documentation (PPA, EPC, Turbine/Panel Supply Agreements, O&M) (2) emerging structures in post-tax grant era (sale lease-back, partnership flip) and (3) perspectives on capital and loan markets in renewable project finance.

McAndrew and Cohen Obtain Very Favorable Decision from the Vermont Supreme Court

April 2, 2012. Karen McAndrew and Linda Cohen recently obtained a very favorable decision from the Vermont Supreme Court in a difficult case involving a sizeable Medicaid lien. The Court’s decision resulted in a significant reduction for the State’s claims and thus a substantial savings for our client.

Dinse Obtains TRO on Behalf of Employer

Scott Fewell and David Scherr obtained a TRO and PI against employee in breach of non-competition agreement in Chittenden Superior Court.

Nolan Does Two Presentations at Nationally-Broadcast Symposium

On March 28, 2012, Jeff Nolan of Dinse’s Higher Education Practice Group did two presentations at the Sixth Annual North Carolina Higher Education Safety Symposium, which combined an on-site audience and a live-streamed web cast. The first, which addressed standards of care and best practices for campus threat assessment teams, was viewed by approximately 3,850 participants on over 80 campuses, in addition to the on-site audience. The second, which addressed what campuses should be doing to better respond to sexual violence issues on campus, was viewed by approximately 3,000 people on over 60 campuses. Nolan Presenting at Title IX Compliance Conferences

On November 9 and 10, 2011 in Philadelphia, Jeff Nolan of Dinse’s Higher Education Practice Group will be presenting at the second of several conferences on “Navigating Legal Issues Under OCR’s 2011 Dear Colleague Letter.”. The conference focuses on what colleges and universities need to know to handle sexual harassment and sexual violence issues on campus, in light of recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Education. The curriculum, which was first presented in Boston on September 20 and 21, was co-developed and co-presented by DKM and Margolis, Healy & Associates.
