I represent employers and the issues they face in the establishment and administration of employee benefit plans. I educate and guide our clients in the execution of fiduciary responsibilities, minimizing personal liability and improving the value of employee benefit arrangements. I am passionate about improving fiduciary performance, monitoring and lowering administration fees, and providing strategic counsel for efficient plan design, effective governance arrangements and risk management.
I have considerable experience in all aspects of employee benefits law. Much of my recent work has been focused on fiduciary performance and risk management. I have advised management and administrative committees as well as union plans. I have provided advice and guidance in the adoption of investment policies and in reviewing fees for retirement plans, foundations and endowment funds. My employee benefit work covers executive compensation, qualified retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, federal and state income taxation of retirement benefits and ESOP plan design and administration. I have represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the United States Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, the US Tax Court and other Federal courts.
