Hospitals and Health Systems
For more than fifty years, we have regularly represented hospitals and health care systems on a wide range of health care issues, including tax exempt financings, corporate reorganizations, acquisitions, tax matters, payment and reimbursement problems, certificate of need proceedings, managed care initiatives, PHO's, physician practice acquisitions, anti-trust problems, assisted living projects, and professional relations issues.
Home Health
We represent home health agencies on the range of current issues affecting their services and are particularly sensitive to the financial, reimbursement, managed care and anti-trust issues affecting the non-profit home care industry.
Long Term Care
We represent nursing homes and other long term care providers in connection with reimbursement, rate-setting, regulatory compliance and related issues, and have particular experience in nursing home acquisitions.
Individual Providers and Practice Groups
We represent physicians, physician groups and other individual providers in connection with numerous health care matters, including managed care negotiations and contracting.
Health Care Litigation
In connection with our litigation practice, we regularly defend health care providers in professional malpractice and related litigation. We have handled the defense of malpractice and professional liability cases for almost every hospital and health care organization in Vermont, and a great number of the physicians and individual providers. We are currently handling the defense of more than 50 medical malpractice cases, representing physicians and hospitals in virtually every court in Vermont.
