Description of Practice:

Justin Barnard is a member of the firm’s litigation and appellate groups, representing clients before federal and state trial courts, appeals courts, and administrative bodies.  Mr. Barnard came to the firm in 2014 from the Maine Attorney General’s Office.  At the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Barnard served as a lead litigator for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, handling class actions and lawsuits involving complex issues of constitutional and federal law.  In 2013, Mr. Barnard was one of several assistant attorneys general selected nationwide for a fellowship sponsored by the National Association of Attorneys General and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Prior to joining the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Barnard served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kermit V. Lipez on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and as an associate in the Silicon Valley office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
