Description of Practice:
Elizabeth (Liz) Kleinberg practices with the firm’s corporate group. She advises individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations in business transactions. She counsels clients on a variety of intellectual property issues, including the selection, registration and prosecution of trademarks, the protection of intellectual property including copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets, responding to “cease and desist” letters, domain name disputes, privacy concerns, and trademark and copyright infringement.
Prior to joining the firm Liz practiced in the litigation and intellectual property and technology groups at Burr & Forman LLP in Birmingham, Alabama. She has held two federal clerkships, the first with United States District Judge Ira DeMent in the Middle District of Alabama, and the second with United States Circuit Judge Ed Carnes in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Liz also served as a Law Fellow for the Southern Poverty Law Center. In addition to practicing law, Liz was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where she taught Intellectual Property and Trademark & Unfair Competition Law.
