Description of Practice:

Edward (Ted) Lawrence joined the firm’s business group in October 2015. His practice focuses on a wide array of commercial matters, including business transactions and taxation. Ted came to the firm from the Michigan Court of Appeals, where he clerked for Judge Henry Saad.

At the University of Michigan Law School, Ted received the Student Law Prize from the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society for his work in legal history. Before his career as a lawyer, Ted worked as an assistant editor at The National Interest, a foreign policy journal in Washington, D.C. He also served as a research assistant to veteran Supreme Court journalist Joan Biskupic, while she wrote her biographies of Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Sonia Sotomayor.
